Challenge

Following a number of improvements made in the global mobility department over the past years, the client was seeking opportunities to further improve and sophisticate the global compensation reporting process.

Before hiring TTT, there were a couple of reservations on the client side. At one hand, the client is working with a Big Four firm and seamless collaboration was key for success of the project. On the other hand, the project team including PwC had limited experience with the organisation of the client. Finally, a major Workday implementation project was taking place at the same time, and it was crucial interdependencies would be carefully managed.

Client experience

In practice the project turned out to be a joint effort between the client, the Big Four firm and TTT:

“The collaboration between the service providers turned out to be smooth and issueless and no concern at all. Both ensured the roles were clear. Dennis Strijker of TTT-Group acted as manager of the project and driver of the development of the new processes. PwC provided the tax input”.

“The project team was relatively young and inexperienced but the project targeted a number of different functions and departments. TTT helped navigate through and helped with the adjustment of the planning where necessary”.

“TTT managed the interdependencies with the Workday project well, made sure they kept up to date with developments, provided feedback and intervened when necessary, to make sure the international mobility aspects of both projects were aligned and managed well”.

Results

Overall, our client was very happy with the result. Besides the direct results of improvements, some of the ideas invented or initiated during the project were further developed even after the project.

When required, Dennis made sure there always was a presentation available that explained the current status, challenges and results of the project in a simple and clear way, but with an impact.”

“The project resulted in complete process descriptions which ING could use and used to further improve the international data flows. In addition, blueprints and descriptions of functional requirements for automation of expense process were delivered and a smart tool was developed to automate determination of taxability of wage components based on the individual tax positions of our employees”.
